Ilene Amiel, founded Personal Affairs Administrator, Inc. (PAA) in 2013 with the goal of bringing her business experience and unique skill set to the growing need of seniors, individuals in transition, busy professionals, widows/widowers and millennials.
Education and Experience
Ilene earned a Bachelors degree from Boston University's Questrom School of Business. She spent the first part of her career as an Account Manager at four NYC ad agencies, where she managed budgets ranging from $500K to $30MM. Ilene then went on to work as a Comptroller where she oversaw all financial and administrative functions for two consulting firms in Westchester. During her 20+ years of corporate experience, Ilene honed her skills in financial management, communications and negotiating. She worked extensively with attorneys, accountants, wealth managers, bankers, insurance agents and other service providers.
The story of PAA is truly a personal story of Ilene Amiel. She was appointed the Executrix of her father's estate when he was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer and died soon after. She founded PAA after she went through the Executrix process again for her aunt, who also passed away quickly after being diagnosed with cancer. Going through the experience of losing two close family members opened Ilene's heart to the pain of others who might not be equipped to manage the financial aspect of the loss. She now dedicates her time and talents to making a difference in the lives of others during difficult times.
In 2016, Ilene earned certifications as a Certified Money Coach (CMC) and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA). She added new services to her company for individuals considering divorce, in the process of divorce and post divorce.
Most recently, Ilene has been working with millennials to educate and guide them towards becoming fiscally literate. Ilene enjoys creating budgets with her younger clients so they can create good habits as they begin the "adulting” phase of their lives.
Ms. Amiel is a native New Yorker and has lived in Westchester county for the past 25 years. She is the mother of two millennials.
Ilene is a proud ally to the LGBTQ* community.
Ms. Amiel is a member of the Orion Resource Group, New York's premier Elder Care Group and the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM) . Ilene abides by AADMM’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and is bonded and insured by Lloyds of London.
